Hollywood at The Hallmark!

Saturday 3rd December saw the glitz and glamour of Tinsel Town come to the heart of Cheshire for the Inaugural Future Recruitment Christmas in Hollywood Charity Ball, sponsored by Quote My Life.

300 guests attended the glamorous affair which was hosted by Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh and Key 103 DJ Mike Toolan. The event, organised by award winning Events Management Agency Entertainment Today, was a collaboration between Jane Houghton of Future Recruitment, Stoke City’s Phil Bardsley and his wife, star of Real Housewives of Cheshire, Tanya Bardsley; along with Elisabeth Shahlavi who tragically lost her brother, Darren, to a cardiac arrest last year at just 42 years of age.

Stockport born and bred Darren Shahlavi was a martial artist and stunt man who moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to bring his lifelong dream of becoming a Hollywood star into fruition. It was his enviable physique and lightening fast moves that made Darren a star, landing him in roles alongside lifelong heroes such a Jean Claude Van Damme. Darren’s success was tragically cut short by an undiagnosed, underlying, heart condition which caused a fatal cardiac arrest. It was in Darren’s memory that the inaugural Christmas in Hollywood Ball was held. The evening raised funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young, with all money raised funding cardiac screening locally within the North West, detecting potentially life threatening cardiac conditions and saving young lives.

Guests were dazzled on from the moment of arrival, greeted on the red carpet by two scantily clad young men! Rising star Caine Ward got guests in the mood to party with stunning vocals during the Champagne reception and Alexander Stewart entertained guests throughout dinner with a smooth swing set during dinner. Manchester Comedian, Jason Manford, took to the stage after the charity auction, entertaining guests with a hilarious comedy set and duo Yvette Royle and Kenny Paget le Tour ensured all guests were on the dance floor with a superb dance set to finish the night!

The evening was sponsored by Quote My Life. A recently launched socially conscious life insurance company, based in Salford Quays, aiming to change people’s perceptions of life insurance companies, working at the forefront of social media to spread their fundamental message showing how cheap life insurance actually can be.

Quote My Life also brought the latest online craze to the evening, sponsoring the night’s Mannequin Challenge…
