Event Planner: Behind the Scenes

It’s not all glamourous dresses, celebrity performers and delicious dinners in the world of events. Life as an event planner is not always a bed of roses, but every day is so different to the previous one and we event managers learn to expect the unexpected!

As an event planner we deal with strict deadlines and long working hours; supervising every element of the event so that you, our guests enjoy a flawless experience, transported away from the stress of your everyday lives. There is a lot that goes on behind those glossy images that can be found on Instagram and with these videos, we can give you an insight into a small piece of that.

This years Denise Welch charity ball, held at The Principal Manchester, was themed Magic Castle and boy, did we at Entertainment Today put on a magical evening! Guests arrived at 7.00pm and were immediately immersed into a magical world filled with illusion and trickery. Behind the scenes, our production team were on site from 7.00am to bring the months of planning to life. Take a look at what happened in the 12 hours before the main event…

 

Not all events come with a leisurely 12 month planning period, some client briefs land on your desk with just weeks (sometimes days!) until the big day. This Gatsby themed birthday party was one of these. At Entertainment Today, each Event Planner will rise to the challenge with their creativity bubbling under the pressure, no detail is missed, and the vision is brought to life, regardless of the time scale. For this event, not only was the lead time short but the team has only a 4 hour window in which to transform the venue (The Hilton Deansgate’s Cloud23). Take a look at how the team made it happen…
